“Pilot Perks” drawing runs weekly from SUNDAY to SATURDAY . All prizes, passwords and winners are listed in The Virginian-Pilot “Pilot Perks” contest ad in The Daily Break section every SUNDAY.
Eligibility
All VIRGINIAN-PILOT drawings are open only to legal residents of The Pilot’s distribution area (Hampton Roads, NENC, Eastern Shore) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of their registration.
Employees of THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT and sponsors and their families or households are ineligible to enter/win any contests held by the THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT.
How to Enter
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter “Pilot Perks” drawing, look in The Daily Break section every SUNDAY for the prize list and passwords.
Go to web site: www.TheVirginianPilot.com/PilotPerks and enter your registered email address and "Today's Password" to access the day’s drawing. All players must register online to play for the first time. Contestants may enter once per day to increase chances of winning. Winners will be drawn randomly from the week’s entries. Winners will be listed through name and city.
Conditions of Participation
Only one winner per family or household will be allowed, per 30 days, per prize. Rule applies to specific prizes, not categories (e.g. Advance screenings, concerts). For example: A player who wins Dave Matthews tickets, may win concert tickets again within 30 days – just not Dave Matthews tickets. The decision of THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT with regard to authorized winners and/or qualifiers is final. Entering drawing multiple times in a given day is prohibited. Abuse of the rules will forfeit your right to participate in “Pilot Perks” drawings in the future.
All “Pilot Perks” drawings entrants acknowledge as a condition of entry that THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT has a right to publicize the winner’s name, picture and/or voice in connection with the promotion of such contests or future similar drawings.
All prizes are non-transferable and void where prohibited by law. No cash substitution of prizes allowed.
Winners understand and agree that they are responsible for and will pay all federal, state and other taxes, if any, incurred on prizes received.
If required by THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT or otherwise by applicable law, winner must sign an affidavit of eligibility and/or a release of liability and/or a release of publicity prior to receiving their prize.
Winners must personally accept his/her prizes, and must claimed within thirty (30) calendar days of notification of winning [or prior, if prize is time sensitive]. Upon acceptance of a prize, proper picture identification (e.g., valid driver’s license, passport) from the winner is required. All prizes unclaimed after thirty (30) days will automatically be forfeited and may be disposed of at THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT'S discretion.
In the event of non-availability of a prize, THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT may substitute another prize of equal or similar value.THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT is not responsible for any defective prizes. By entering, entrants release THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT and its parent company, affiliates, and advertising and promotions agencies and their respective employees, officers, shareholders, directors and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize.
By entering, all entrants acknowledge that THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT and its parent company, affiliates, and advertising and promotions agencies and their respective employees, officers, shareholders, directors and agents are not responsible and shall not be liable for (i) late, lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, inaccurate or unintelligible entries; or (ii) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any material associated with these contests.
In the case of a dispute over an entry submission or otherwise in connection with any contests conducted by THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT, the decision of THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT is final.
Prize pick-up
The Virginian-Pilot building, 150 West Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, Monday thru Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Under unique circumstances as determined by THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT, a representative designated by the winner will be allowed to accept the prize for the winner. Written authorization from the winner including such representative’s name, ID, and a photocopy of the winner’s valid driver’s license is required in such event.
Under certain conditions, prize may be mailed. If so, it is the responsibility of the winner to provide THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT with a current and correct mailing address. THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT is not responsible for, nor obligated to replace, any lost, stolen, or damaged prize sent through the U.S. Mail. Prizes will be mailed either first, second, or third class U.S. Mail at the discretion of THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT.
In the event that a winner voluntarily chooses to decline a prize, he/she automatically forfeits all claims to that prize.
THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT then has the right, but not the obligation, to award that prize to a contest runner-up.
Odds of Winning
